description:
At the center is a large sand dollar, in place of a pentacle (it has a natural star on the top, the 'doves' inside, I love the water, and it's not conspicuous). White illumination candles are at the outside back on each side. There are silver candles near center back, representing the Goddess. The Goddess statue is at the center back. Center front is the 'cauldron', which holds shells and ocean-scented potpourri at the moment. The silver thing on the front right is a star-shaped candle. A little to the left of that, the multicoloured object, is a clay ankh covered in tiny shells. Beside that (you can't see it, since the chimes are in front of it) is a clay tablet I made in 9th grade art class- an ankh with four other symbols around it- I made it for the purpose of putting it on my altar, so it's there. The chimes are obvious (I think the character means 'wind'?). Between the chimes and the cone incense holder is a wand. Generally, Dianics don't have a wand anywhere near their altar, since it's a god symbol. But I borrowed this from a tree in my grandmother's yard when i was in 7th grade, not long after I started studying but a bit before I discovered the Dianic tradition. It's usually on my bookshelf, but I wanted it in the picture, so it's there. A little farther to the left, the blue object is a candle with shells molded in the bottom. Last thing, closer to the front, white object, is a white porcelain shell with pearly glaze, and blue stones in it. I don't yet have a chalice, because I haven't found something nice enough that I'd keep on my altar yet. I plan to update close-ups of some objects in the near future.
