Description:
This is my altar as arranged for this Samhain. I realise that the image of the entire altar is horrible. It's the best I was able to get of it. If you want good better images, click on the thumbnails under the description. They're in four sections (left, middle, and right; then there's a closeup of the center), and those are what I'll be describing. The altar cloth and runner, I made myself before Beltane.

Left image - At the far corner are the main illumination candles; white, orange, and a small red candle in a skull holder (obstructed by my Fire candle). Still at the back, you see a floating orange candle with little glass Jack O'Lanterns in the bottom of the water. Then there is a small cider-scented illumination candle, and next to it is one half of my pair of silver Goddess candles. Moving forward onto the runner, you see the Fire candle. Beside it, from back to front, are a wooden dragon statue, a tiny red candle in a ribbon-shaped holder lit in prayer for an AIDS cure, and a pewter dragon statue. Slightly to the right, two small pumpkin candles. To the right again, a stuffed pumpkin, an incense holder, and my crystal bell (both for Air).

Middle image - I'll begin with my Goddess statue (since I've described everything to the left of Her). There are cowrie shells resting at the base, for Water. In front of the shells is my sanddollar, which is my pentacle, since it's a circular form and has a natural pentagram on top. Next is my cauldron, which contains fall leaves, five acorns, and a few tiny faux gourds. The things on either side of the cauldron are little Jack O'Lanterns. I'll leave off there, since the next image picks it up.

Right image - At the top, near the center statue, is the other half of the pair of silver Goddess candles. Directly in front of it are a cluster of tiny stuffed pumpkins, then the biggest thing in the photo- my chimes. I still don't know what the kanji means. In front of the chimes is my wand. Again, Dianics don't usually have wands on their altar, but this holds a special place in my heart because it came from an oak tree in my grandmother's yard. The tree has since been cut down, so the wand isn't going anywhere. In front of the wand is a cone incense burner. At the right arm of the chimes is a smiling Jack O'Lantern figurine wearing a silver witch's hat, and below it is a pair of small pumpkin candles. Slightly more to the right is a little cherry-stained ring box that holds my measure. At the top right corner are the same illumination candles at the other side. You can see the skull candle holder better there. In front of those is my cup of salt with three pieces of lapis lazuli (both for Earth), then a pewter candle holder in the shape of a leaf, with a sphere candle.

Center image - I included this one to give a closeup of the cauldron. Also, a little to show the triquetra ribbon pinned there. And that's it. Any questions? You know where to reach me.
