Lammas [lah-mass] or Lughnassad [loo-nas-ah] is celebrated around August 1st or 2nd. It is the beginning of harvest time, and a time of gatherings and marriage. One of the most traditional activities on this sabbat is the baking of bread, symbolising the cycle of life. Traditionally, the bread was shared among neighbours in honour of your harvest.

Rituals for the banishing of fear are good at this time, as well as making offerings of the first fruits of your harvest. Fairs are common at this time of year.

Handfastings (if they aren't performed 'legally', with marriage license) entered into at this time of year (in modern days, any time, really) can be nulled at the same time in one year. This allows couples a year long 'trial marriage'.
