Along with the blessing, you may wish to anoint your cards (lightly) with consecrated water or oil. Be sure to shuffle your deck well, and touch every card with your hands. If you don't wish to shuffle the deck at the time of blessing it, at least go through the deck and touch each card, lying them down in order. Get to know your tarot cards- when you go through to touch each one, study the images on the card for a short time before returning it in order.

You can also present your cards to the corners, or the Goddesses you principally pay your attentions to. I sort of did both...

"Kuan Yin, I present my tarot to you, and to the East. I ask that you gift it for true divinations." (Kuan Yin is a Chinese goddess of compassion and mercy, and associated with divination and healing. It is said that the mere whisper of her name brings her to you for comfort.)

"Asherah, I present my tarot to you, and to the South. I ask that you gift it for protection and peace." (Asherah is a Hebrew mother goddess and protectress, giver of peace and abundance.)

"Yemaya, I present my tarot to you, and to the West. I ask that you gift it for healing and love." (Yemaya is a West African mother goddess, from the ocean. She is merciful, invoked for love and healing.)

"Gaia, I present my tarot to you, and to the North. I ask that you gift it with truth." (Gaia is the Earth Mother, the oldest of goddesses. Her majesty was acknowledged by both humans and gods- even they invoked her for oaths. The Oracle of Delphi originally belonged to her.)
